METHOD AND USER EQUIPMENT FOR HANDLING USER PLANE IN DUAL CONNECTIVITY IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM - A simplified explanation of the abstract
- This abstract for appeared for US patent application number 18346040 Titled 'METHOD AND USER EQUIPMENT FOR HANDLING USER PLANE IN DUAL CONNECTIVITY IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM'
Simplified Explanation
This abstract describes a method for managing the user plane in a user equipment (UE) that is configured for dual connectivity operation. The method involves receiving a message from either a main network (MN) or a secondary network (SN) that includes information about the layers and configurations of radio bearers. Based on this information, the UE performs certain actions such as reestablishing a Radio Link Control (RLC) entity and a Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP) entity, or performing a data recovery procedure for the PDCP entity. The specific actions taken depend on the indications and configurations provided in the message.
Original Abstract Submitted
Embodiments herein provide a method for handling a user plane by a UE configured for dual connectivity operation. The method includes receiving a RRC reconfiguration message including one or more Layer indications and a Layer configuration corresponding to one or more radio bearers from one of a MN and a SN involved in a dual connectivity operation of the UE. Further, the method includes performing, by the UE, one of: reestablishing of a RLC entity and a data recovery procedure for a PDCP entity corresponding to the radio bearer based on the one or more Layer indications and the Layer configuration received in the RRC reconfiguration message, and reestablishing of a RLC entity and reestablishing of a PDCP entity corresponding to the radio bearer based on the one or more Layer indications and the Layer configuration received in the RRC reconfiguration message.
