CONTROL DEVICE FOR VEHICLE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18319481 titled 'CONTROL DEVICE FOR VEHICLE

Simplified Explanation

- The patent application describes a control device for an air conditioner unit that can recognize when an operation by the occupant may affect the anti-fog performance of the unit. - The control device allows the occupant to control the anti-fog performance according to their own preference. - Specifically, when the occupant operates the air conditioner panel while the vehicle is in self-driving mode, and the operation may lower the anti-fog performance, the occupant is notified. - The notification includes information about the potential decrease in anti-fog performance and a preannouncement that the self-driving level will be lowered after a certain time. - If the occupant cancels the operation before the predetermined time elapses, the notification is stopped, and the self-driving level remains the same. - However, if the occupant does not cancel the operation before the predetermined time elapses, the self-driving level is lowered, and the air-conditioning state is adjusted based on the operation.

Original Abstract Submitted

A control device is provided to make recognize an occupant that an operation by the occupant may affect an anti-fog performance of an air conditioner unit, and to control the anti-fog performance of the occupant's own will. When the occupant operates an air conditioner operation panel during self-driving in LV and when the operation possibly lowers the anti-fog performance of the air conditioner unit, the occupant is notified of; information that the operation possibly lowers the anti-fog performance; and information to preannounce lowering of the self-driving level to LV after elapse of a predetermined time. When the operation is cancelled before elapse of the predetermined time, the notification is terminated and the self-driving in LV is maintained. When the operation is not cancelled before elapse of the predetermined time, the self-driving level is switched to LV and an air-conditioning state is switched according to the operation.
