SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MASTER NODE-INITIATED CONDITIONAL PRIMARY SECONDARY CELL ADDITION - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18040283 titled 'SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MASTER NODE-INITIATED CONDITIONAL PRIMARY SECONDARY CELL ADDITION
Simplified Explanation
The patent application describes a method used by a network node to add a secondary cell to a network.
- The network node sends a Request message to a target secondary node (SN).
- The target SN responds with an Acknowledge message that includes a Secondary Cell Group (SCG) configuration for a target candidate cell.
- The network node sends another message, called RRC Reconfiguration, to a wireless device.
- The RRC Reconfiguration message includes at least one conditional reconfiguration.
- The conditional reconfiguration includes another RRC Reconfiguration message in Master Node (MN) format and a Master Cell Group (MCG) configuration.
- The conditional reconfiguration also includes at least one execution condition for the conditional Primary Secondary Cell Addition (CPA) and a conditional reconfiguration identity associated with the CPA for the target candidate cell.
- The RRC Reconfiguration message in MN format includes the SCG configuration received from the target SN.
- The network node receives a first reconfiguration complete message from the wireless device.
Original Abstract Submitted
A method by a network node operating as a Master Node (MN) for conditional Primary Secondary Cell Addition (CPA) includes sending, to a target secondary node (SN) a Request message. The network node receives, from the target SN, an Acknowledge message comprising an RRC Reconfiguration message (RRCReconfiguration**), including a Secondary Cell Group (SCG) configuration for a target candidate cell. The network node sends, to a wireless device, another RRC Reconfiguration message (RRCReconfiguration), which includes at least one conditional reconfiguration. The conditional reconfiguration includes: another RRC Reconfiguration message (RRCReconfiguration*) in MN format and a Master Cell Group (MCG) configuration; at least one execution condition for the CPA; and a conditional reconfiguration identity associated with the CPA for the target candidate cell. The RRCReconfiguration* includes the RRCReconfiguration**. The network node receives, from the wireless device, a first reconfiguration complete message.
