IAB HIERARCHICAL DU RESOURCE CONFIGURATION - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18033106 titled 'IAB HIERARCHICAL DU RESOURCE CONFIGURATION
Simplified Explanation
The abstract describes a system and method for configuring resources in an Integrated Access and Backhaul (IAB) hierarchical Distributed Unit (DU).
- The method involves determining the multiplexing capability of an IAB node and sending this information to an IAB donor node.
- The IAB node then receives a resource configuration profile from the IAB donor node.
- The method further involves determining the actual multiplexing capability of the IAB node at a later time and using this information to determine a valid resource configuration for the IAB node.
- Based on the valid resource configuration, the method involves scheduling transmission on the backhaul links and/or access links of the IAB node.
Original Abstract Submitted
Systems and methods are disclosed for Integrated Access and Backhaul (IAB) hierarchical Distributed Unit (DU) resource configuration. In one embodiment, a method performed by an IAB node comprises determining a first multiplexing capability of the IAB node at a first time, sending information that is indicative of the first multiplexing capability of the IAB node to an IAB donor node, and receiving a first resource configuration profile from the IAB donor node. The method further comprises determining a second actual multiplexing capability of the IAB node at a second time that is subsequent to the first time and determining a valid resource configuration for the IAB node based on the second actual multiplexing capability of the IAB node. The method further comprises scheduling transmission on one or more child backhaul links and/or one or more access links of the IAB node based on the valid resource configuration.
