QUASI CO-LOCATION TYPE FOR DOPPLER PRE-COMPENSATED REFERENCE SIGNAL - A simplified explanation of the abstract

  • This abstract for appeared for US patent application number 17796458 Titled 'QUASI CO-LOCATION TYPE FOR DOPPLER PRE-COMPENSATED REFERENCE SIGNAL'

Simplified Explanation

This abstract describes methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications. It introduces a base station that is located near a high-speed train and has at least two transmission reception points (TRPs). The base station can transmit an indication of a quasi co-location (QCL) relationship to a user equipment (UE) on the train. This QCL relationship indicates the relationship between multiple tracking reference signals (TRSs) and a demodulation reference signal (DMRS) of a data channel.

The UE on the train receives the first TRS associated with a specific occasion of the data channel from the first TRP and the second TRS associated with the same occasion from the second TRP. The UE then uses the indication of the QCL relationship to perform a channel estimation procedure for the data channel. This procedure is based on the DMRS, the received first TRS, and the received second TRS.

In summary, this abstract presents a method for improving wireless communication on a high-speed train by utilizing multiple TRPs and a QCL relationship to enhance channel estimation for data transmission.

Original Abstract Submitted

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station that may include at least two transmission reception points (TRPs) next to a high speed train (HST) may transmit, to a user equipment (UE) on the HST, an indication of a quasi co-location (QCL) relationship indicating a relationship between a plurality of tracking reference signals (TRSs) and a demodulation reference signal (DMRS) of a data channel. The plurality of TRSs may include a first TRS and a second TRS. The UE may receive, from a first TRP, the first TRS associated with an occasion of the data channel, and receive, from a second TRP, the second TRS associated with the occasion of the data channel. The UE may perform, based on the indication of the QCL relationship, a channel estimation procedure for the data channel based on the DMRS, the received first TRS, and the received second TRS.
