the present disclosure relates to a method of controlling an energy supply system comprising a central power grid () and at least one local power grid configured to supply at least one entity () with energy, and a device () performing the method. in an aspect, a method of controlling an energy supply system comprising a central power grid () and at least one local power grid configured to supply at least one entity () with energy is provided. the method comprises acquiring (s) information indicating, for a past time period, amount of energy having been supplied to the entity () by the central power grid () and the at least one local power grid, energy supply capacity of the central power grid () and the at least one local power grid, and information indicating conditions affecting the energy supply and the energy capacity during said past time period and determining (s), based on the acquired information, expected energy delivery capacity of the central power grid () and the at least one local power grid and expected energy demand of the entity during an upcoming time period. the method further comprises controlling (s) selection of amount of energy supplied from the central power grid () and from the at least one local power grid according to an energy criteria to be satisfied such that the expected energy demand of the entity () is met during the upcoming time period.
