an electronic device, according to various embodiments of the present disclosure, comprises: a second housing; a first housing which slidingly moves with respect to the second housing; a display which comprises a first display area and a second display area extending from the first display area, and which has at least a portion of the second display area move on the basis of the sliding movement of the first housing; a motor which is disposed in the second housing and provides a driving force for the sliding movement of the first housing; and a gear structure which transfers the driving force provided from the motor to the first housing. the gear structure comprises: a first gear unit which is connected to the motor; a second gear unit which is connected to the first gear unit; a third gear unit which is connected to or disconnected from the second gear unit; and a rack gear which is disposed in the first housing and is connected to the third gear unit.
