AIR PURIFIER AND OPERATING METHOD THEREOF - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240263813 titled 'AIR PURIFIER AND OPERATING METHOD THEREOF
The abstract describes an air purifier with a tubular reactor containing a first electrode unit, a second electrode unit, a power source unit generating plasma between the electrodes, a support with through-holes, and a catalyst coated on the support.
- Tubular air purifier design
- First and second electrode units for generating plasma
- Power source unit for applying voltage between electrodes
- Support with through-holes and catalyst coating
- Plasma generation for air purification
Potential Applications: - Indoor air purification in homes, offices, and industrial settings - Removal of pollutants, odors, and harmful particles from the air
Problems Solved: - Improving indoor air quality - Eliminating harmful contaminants - Enhancing overall health and well-being
Benefits: - Cleaner and healthier indoor air - Reduction of respiratory issues - Odor elimination and improved living conditions
Commercial Applications: Title: "Advanced Air Purification Technology for Indoor Spaces" This technology can be used in HVAC systems, air purifiers, and filtration units for residential, commercial, and industrial purposes. The market for air purification systems is growing due to increasing awareness of indoor air quality.
Prior Art: Readers can explore prior patents related to air purification systems, plasma reactors, and catalyst-coated supports to understand the evolution of this technology.
Frequently Updated Research: Researchers are continually studying the effectiveness of plasma-based air purification systems in different environments and the long-term benefits of using catalyst-coated supports for air filtration.
Questions about Air Purification Technology: 1. How does plasma generation in air purifiers help in removing pollutants? Plasma generates reactive species that break down pollutants into harmless compounds, improving air quality.
2. What are the key advantages of using catalyst-coated supports in air purification systems? Catalyst-coated supports enhance the efficiency of pollutant breakdown and prolong the lifespan of the air purifier.
Original Abstract Submitted
an air purifier includes a reactor in a tubular shape defining a hollow region extending in a first direction, a first electrode unit extending in the first direction and arranged in the hollow region, a second electrode unit arranged to surround the first electrode unit and separated from the first electrode unit with a certain space therebetween, a power source unit which applies a certain voltage between the first electrode unit and the second electrode unit to generate plasma between the first electrode unit and the second electrode unit, a support arranged between the first electrode unit and the second electrode unit, where a plurality of through-holes extending in the first direction is defined through the support, and a catalyst coated on a surface of the support defining the plurality of through-holes.
