ENHANCEMENTS ON SMALL DATA TRANSMISSION - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240251435 titled 'ENHANCEMENTS ON SMALL DATA TRANSMISSION
The patent application relates to methods, devices, and computer-readable media for small data transmission (SDT), improving communication efficiency and network performance.
- First device determines target resource for data transmission based on logical channel restrictions on SDT.
- Data is transmitted to a second device on the target resource, enhancing service isolation through specific resource selection.
Potential Applications: - Wireless communication systems - Internet of Things (IoT) devices - Mobile networks
Problems Solved: - Enhancing communication efficiency - Improving network performance - Isolating services effectively
Benefits: - Better resource utilization - Enhanced data transmission - Improved network reliability
Commercial Applications: - Telecom companies - IoT device manufacturers - Network infrastructure providers
Questions about Small Data Transmission: 1. How does logical channel restriction improve data transmission efficiency?
- Logical channel restrictions help in better resource allocation, leading to improved data transmission efficiency.
2. What are the key benefits of using SDT in wireless communication systems?
- SDT enhances communication efficiency, network performance, and service isolation, providing significant benefits to wireless communication systems.
Original Abstract Submitted
embodiments of the present disclosure relate to methods, devices, apparatuses, and computer readable medium for small data transmission (sdt). a first device, in response to first data to be transmitted via a sdt corresponding to a first set of resources for a random access procedure and a second set of resources for a configured grant procedure, determine a target resource for at least a part of the first data based on a logical channel restriction on the sdt; and transmit, to a second device, at least the part of the first data on the target resource. in this way, the sdt procedure can be performed with logical channel restrictions, which allows a better isolation of services through specific resource selection. the communication efficiency and network performance can also be improved.
