TRANSMISSION FOR TIME SYNCHRONIZATION - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240251370 titled 'TRANSMISSION FOR TIME SYNCHRONIZATION

The abstract describes a method involving the use of an indexed table to define settings for transmission periods based on the elevation angle of a terminal device with a serving satellite.

  • The method includes defining an indexed table with settings for transmission segments and timing advance adjustment segments based on elevation angles.
  • An index is obtained to determine the applicable setting for the terminal device's elevation angle.
  • Uplink transmissions are scheduled and received according to the determined setting.

Potential Applications: - Satellite communication systems - Mobile network optimization - Wireless transmission technologies

Problems Solved: - Efficient scheduling of transmissions based on terminal device elevation angles - Improved timing advance adjustment for better signal reception

Benefits: - Enhanced communication reliability - Optimal utilization of satellite resources - Reduced interference and signal delays

Commercial Applications: Title: "Optimized Satellite Communication System for Mobile Networks" This technology can be used in telecommunications companies to improve the efficiency and reliability of satellite communication systems for mobile networks, leading to better service quality and customer satisfaction.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does this method improve the performance of satellite communication systems? - This method optimizes transmission scheduling based on terminal device elevation angles, leading to better signal reception and reduced interference. 2. What are the potential implications of this technology for mobile network operators? - Mobile network operators can benefit from improved signal quality, reduced delays, and enhanced overall network performance.

Original Abstract Submitted

disclosed is a method comprising defining an indexed table that defines, for an elevation angle of a terminal device with a serving satellite, a setting that defines durations of segments comprised in a transmission period, wherein the segments comprise at least one transmission segment and at least one segment for timing advance adjustment, and wherein the indexed table comprises a plurality of ranges of elevation angles with corresponding settings, obtaining an indication regarding an index that defines the setting that is applicable to the elevation angle of the terminal device, scheduling a transmission, wherein the transmission is an uplink transmission, and receiving the transmission from the terminal device according to the setting that is applicable to the elevation angle of the terminal device.
