a portable pipe threader includes a stand upon which a pipe is supported, a carriage supported by the stand, a spindle mounted to the carriage for clamping the pipe against rotation such that the pipe is stationary, a plurality of pipe threading tools coupled to the carriage and selectively operable to perform work on the pipe, a drive assembly including a plurality of brushless direct current (bldc) motors. each of the plurality of bldc motors is mounted to one of the plurality of pipe threading tools and is operable to provide torque to a corresponding one of the plurality of pipe threading tools to rotate the corresponding one of the plurality of pipe threading tools relative to the pipe. a battery pack is supported by the stand and in selective electrical communication with the plurality of bldc motors to provide electrical power to the plurality of motors.
