the present invention relates to a clothing treating apparatus comprising at least one water pail that is detachably provided at the front of a machine room to provide water for generating steam to the inside of the machine room or to collect water condensed in the machine room, the water pail comprising: a storage body which has an opening on the upper portion and accommodates water; and a cover portion which is detachably provided on the storage body and closes the opening, wherein the cross-sectional area of the opening corresponds to the cross-sectional area of the storage body.
