a control unit for a cooking appliance including a base configured to be coupled to a cooking appliance, a knob rotatably disposed at the base, and a cover ring coupled to the base to surround the base. the cover ring may be mounted on the base by rotating the cover ring in a first direction with respect to the base, and removed from the base by rotating the cover ring in a second direction, which is an opposite direction to the first direction.
