HEAT EXCHANGER - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240247879 titled 'HEAT EXCHANGER
The patent application describes a heat exchanger with a unique fin design to enhance heat transfer efficiency.
- The heat exchanger includes a heat transfer tube for guiding refrigerant and fins with through-holes for the tube to pass through.
- The fins are spaced apart to allow air to flow in a specific direction.
- Each fin has a corrugated portion in a zigzag shape, a sheet portion around the through-hole, and a connecting portion linking the two.
- The highest point of the connecting portion and corrugated portion is lower than the lowest point in a perpendicular direction.
Potential Applications: - Air conditioning systems - Refrigeration units - Heat pumps
Problems Solved: - Improved heat transfer efficiency - Enhanced cooling performance
Benefits: - Increased energy efficiency - Reduced operating costs - Extended equipment lifespan
Commercial Applications: Title: Innovative Heat Exchanger Technology for Enhanced Cooling Performance This technology can be used in various commercial applications such as HVAC systems, refrigeration units, and industrial cooling processes. The improved heat transfer efficiency can lead to cost savings and improved performance in these applications.
Questions about the technology: 1. How does the unique fin design contribute to enhanced heat transfer efficiency?
- The corrugated and connecting portions of the fins create turbulence in the air flow, increasing heat transfer rates.
2. What are the potential cost savings associated with using this heat exchanger technology?
- The improved efficiency can lead to reduced energy consumption and lower operating costs over time.
Original Abstract Submitted
a heat exchanger includes a heat transfer tube configured to guide a refrigerant, and a plurality of fins each having a through-hole through which the heat transfer tube is vertically installed, the plurality of fins being spaced apart from each other to allow air to pass in a first direction. each of the plurality of fins includes a corrugated portion formed in a zigzag shape in the first direction, a sheet portion surrounding the through-hole and a connecting portion connecting the sheet portion and the corrugated portion, wherein an inclined contact point, which is the highest position of the connecting portion and the corrugated portion, is located lower than a valley portion contact point, which is the lowest position of the connecting portion and the corrugated portion, in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction.
