ORGANIC LIGHT-EMITTING DIODE DISPLAY DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240206293 titled 'ORGANIC LIGHT-EMITTING DIODE DISPLAY DEVICE

Simplified Explanation: The patent application describes an organic light-emitting diode display device with sub-pixels containing emission and non-emission areas, thin film transistors, overcoat layers with micro lenses, and light-emitting diodes connected to the transistors.

  • Each sub-pixel has emission and non-emission areas.
  • Thin film transistors are located in the non-emission areas of the sub-pixels.
  • Overcoat layers in each sub-pixel contain micro lenses in the emission areas.
  • Light-emitting diodes are placed in the emission areas over the overcoat layers and connected to the thin film transistors.
  • Some sub-pixels have flat portions in the emission areas with lens patterns on the overcoat layer.

Original Abstract Submitted

an organic light-emitting diode display device can include a plurality of sub-pixels disposed over a substrate where each sub-pixel has an emission area and a non-emission area, a thin film transistor in the non-emission area of each sub-pixel, and an overcoat layer over the thin film transistor in each sub-pixel and including a plurality of micro lenses in the emission area of each sub-pixel. the organic light-emitting diode display device can further include a light-emitting diode in the emission area of each sub-pixel over the overcoat layer and connected to the corresponding thin film transistor. for one sub-pixel among the plurality of sub-pixels, the emission area of the one sub-pixel has at least one flat portion disposed at the overcoat layer where a top surface of the overcoat layer is flat, and the overcoat layer has at least one lens pattern in the at least one flat portion.
