INTEGRATING SYSTEM-BASED CONTENT AND GAME CONTENT - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240312289 titled 'INTEGRATING SYSTEM-BASED CONTENT AND GAME CONTENT

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes a system that transmits system-based content to a gaming device, which then scales the content for a mixed presentation. The system can adjust the appearance of the content to meet image quality requirements or transmit scale commands to ensure quality.

Key Features and Innovation

  • System transmits video stream of system-based content to gaming device
  • Gaming device scales content relative to game content for mixed presentation
  • System can detect and adjust appearance of content to meet image quality requirements
  • System can transmit scale commands to ensure quality of presentation

Potential Applications

This technology could be used in gaming consoles, streaming devices, and multimedia systems to enhance the quality of mixed content presentations.

Problems Solved

This technology addresses the challenge of maintaining image quality when scaling system-based content for mixed presentations on gaming devices.

Benefits

  • Improved image quality in mixed content presentations
  • Seamless integration of system-based content with game content
  • Enhanced user experience on gaming devices

Commercial Applications

  • Gaming consoles
  • Streaming devices
  • Multimedia systems

Questions about the Technology

How does the system adjust the appearance of the content to meet image quality requirements?

The system can modify the appearance of the video stream or transmit scale commands with appropriate values to ensure image quality.

What are the potential market implications of this technology in the gaming industry?

This technology could lead to enhanced user experiences and improved quality of mixed content presentations on gaming devices, potentially increasing consumer interest and sales.

Original Abstract Submitted

in an example, a system is configured to transmit a video stream of system-based content to a gaming device. the gaming device is configured to scale a size of the system-based content relative to the game content for a mixed, concurrent presentation via a display of the gaming device. the system can further detect, in response to a request to change presentation of the system-based content from a first type to a second type, that a first scale value associated with the first type is inadequate to satisfy an image quality requirement for presentation of the second type. in response to detecting the request, the system can either modify an appearance of the video stream for the second type to satisfy the image quality requirement when scaled using the first scale value or transmit a scale command with a second scale value that satisfies the image quality requirement.
