STRETCHABLE DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240255996 titled 'STRETCHABLE DEVICE
The abstract describes a stretchable device with a resin base member, strain gauges, and electrical wiring. The strain gauges consist of longitudinal and lateral strain gauges, while the electrical wiring includes lines for longitudinal and lateral strain, each with potential lines, coupling lines, and signal lines. The resistance change in each strain gauge is detected based on the potential differences at specific points along the wiring.

Original Abstract Submitted
a stretchable device includes a resin base member, strain gauges, and electrical wiring. the strain gauges include a longitudinal strain gauge and a lateral strain gauge. the electrical wiring includes an electrical wiring line for longitudinal strain and an electrical wiring line for lateral strain. the electrical wiring line for longitudinal strain and the electrical wiring line for lateral strain each include a first potential line, a second potential line, a coupling line, a first signal line, and a second signal line. the first signal line detects a third potential at a first coupling point where the second end of the corresponding strain gauge is coupled to the second potential line. the second signal line detects a fourth potential at a midpoint of the coupling line. the amount of change in resistance of each strain gauge is detected based on a difference between the third potential and the fourth potential.
