a signal transmission method and an apparatus are provided. in the method, a terminal device receives first indication information, the first indication information is for determining at least one of a mapping parameter and a widely linear processing matrix; and the terminal device sends a second signal, where the second signal is obtained by converting a first signal based on at least one of the mapping parameter and the widely linear processing matrix, and the first signal includes m streams of first data to be sent. the mapping parameter includes a first mapping parameter of the m streams of first data and a second mapping parameter of conjugates of the m streams of first data, and the widely linear processing matrix includes a first widely linear processing matrix of m streams of second data and a second widely linear processing matrix of conjugates of the m streams of second data.
