a snapshot processing method is applied to an electronic device including a foldable screen. the electronic device includes m display areas, the m display areas include n length-width ratios, and m≥n≥2. the method includes obtaining a first application switching instruction, where the first application switching instruction instructs to switch a target application from running in a background to running in a foreground; obtaining a length-width ratio of a target display area based on the first application switching instruction, where the m display areas include the target display area; obtaining a target snapshot of the target application, where a length-width ratio of the target snapshot corresponds to the length-width ratio of the target display area; and displaying the target snapshot in the target display area.
