a first device sends m times of reference signals to a second device in a first beam direction, where each of the m times of reference signals are simultaneously sent through two groups of transmit antennas, and m is greater than or equal to 2. the first device receives first information from the second device, where the first information indicates receive phase information of the m times of reference signals. the first device determines a second beam direction based on the first information, where the second beam direction is a beam direction in which the first device sends information to the second device or the first device receives information from the second device.
