this application provides an information transmission method and a communication apparatus, and relates to the communication field. a terminal device may indicate a first beam and a first moment by using first indication information, the terminal device measures at least one first reference signal based on second indication information, to obtain a second beam, and indicates the second beam by using third indication information, and the terminal device may receive first configuration information at a second moment. the second moment at which the terminal device receives the first configuration information is obtained based on the first moment. the first moment may be a future moment, that is, the terminal device may predict the first beam in advance. the second moment is not earlier than the first moment, and the second moment may also be a future moment.
