this application provides an application running method. when running a target application, a first terminal device obtains device information and/or a software running environment of a second terminal device; when the device information and/or the software running environment of the second terminal device meet/meets an execution requirement of a first task of the target application, the first terminal device transfers task running information of the first task to the second terminal device, and the first terminal device does not execute the first task; and the second terminal device executes the first task based on the task running information related to the first task.
