a system and method for processing and analyzing a photographic image of a board having a sticky surface of an insect traps allows for remote monitoring of deployed insect traps to maintain effectiveness of the insect traps while eliminating the need for frequent manual inspections. the processing and analyzing can include converting the photographic image to a grayscale image and determining a concentration of insects on the board and can be performed using edge computing.
