GAS RECOVERY SYSTEM - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240246027 titled 'GAS RECOVERY SYSTEM

The abstract describes a gas recovery system that separates a gas to be recovered from a mixed gas through an electrochemical reaction. The system includes an electrochemical cell with a working electrode and a counter electrode, as well as a housing with a gas inflow section and a gas outflow section. When a voltage is applied between the electrodes, the working electrode adsorbs the gas to be recovered from the mixed gas.

  • Electrochemical cell with working electrode and counter electrode
  • Housing with gas inflow and outflow sections
  • Voltage applied between electrodes for gas recovery
  • Gas inflow section designed to decrease opening area towards downstream side
  • Separation of gas to be recovered from mixed gas through electrochemical reaction

Potential Applications: - Gas recovery in industrial processes - Environmental remediation by capturing specific gases - Gas purification for various applications

Problems Solved: - Efficient separation of gases in a mixed gas stream - Selective recovery of specific gases - Reduction of environmental pollution through gas capture

Benefits: - Energy-efficient gas recovery process - Selective separation of gases for specific applications - Environmental benefits through gas capture and purification

Commercial Applications: Title: Gas Recovery System for Industrial Processes This technology can be used in industries such as chemical manufacturing, oil and gas production, and environmental monitoring for efficient gas recovery and purification processes.

Original Abstract Submitted

a gas recovery system, which separates a gas to be recovered from a mixed gas by an electrochemical reaction, includes at least one electrochemical cell and a housing. the electrochemical cell has a working electrode and a counter electrode. the housing includes a gas inflow section that allows the mixed gas to flow inside the housing and a gas outflow section that allows the mixed gas to flow out from the inside of the housing. when a voltage is applied between the working electrode and the counter electrode, the working electrode adsorbs the gas to be recovered contained in the mixed gas. the gas inflow section has a shape in which an opening area decreases toward a downstream side in a gas flow direction in which the mixed gas flows from the gas inflow section toward the gas outflow section.
