Abstract: systems and methods are provided that may be implemented on an information handling system to select and acquire available information system hardware components in an automated manner that improves user workspace performance, achieves improved system sustainability, and reduces the carbon footprint of the user's information handling system. the available information system hardware components may be selected and acquired based on a single hardware component acquisition score that is generated for a given user of an information handling system based on a combination of inward data (e.g., including factors such as system workspace characteristics and usage patterns of the given user) and outward data of available (e.g., new) system hardware components (e.g., including factors such as environmental sustainability of component hardware and hardware component manufacturing characteristics).

Inventor(s): Helen Dong of Chengdu (CN) for dell products l.p., Renyuan Tong of Chengdu (CN) for dell products l.p., Xuhui Yang of Chengdu (CN) for dell products l.p., Yang Zhao of Chengdu (CN) for dell products l.p.

IPC Code(s): H04L67/1095, G06F16/27, H04L43/0882

CPC Code(s): H04L67/1095

Abstract: for concurrent data transmission, an example method includes acquiring a processor utilization rate related to transmission of historical data packet(s) and a bandwidth utilization rate of a data link within a target time period. a time consumption for transmitting a target data packet, a splitting processing resource related to a splitting operation, and a packaging processing resource related to a packaging operation are determined. based on the processor utilization rate, the bandwidth utilization rate, the time consumption, the splitting processing resource, and the packaging processing resource, a split number is determined for the target data packet to concurrently transmit the target data packet. in this way, a data transmission speed can be improved, time consumed for transmitting the target data packet can be reduced, and meanwhile, it can also alleviate problems such as excessive processing resource consumption and overloaded operation of the processor caused by concurrent transmission.

Inventor(s): Claudio DESANTI of Santa Cruz CA (US) for dell products l.p., Joseph LaSalle WHITE of San Jose CA (US) for dell products l.p.

IPC Code(s): H04L69/16, H04L9/40

CPC Code(s): H04L69/161

Abstract: presented herein are various embodiments that improve the performance of data handling through improved framing. embodiments recognize that while the tcp protocol provides a byte stream abstraction, the layer above tcp (e.g., an nvme layer) is packetized and the layer below tcp is also packetized. in one or more embodiments, by disabling nagle's algorithm and by starting a new segment each time a protocol data unit (pdu) starts results in the pdu header being positioned immediately after a segment header. a receiver need not search through the entire data field of a segment to find the pdu header. this framing may be further improved by determining the maximum pdu size that can be sent in a single packet and by limiting the size of generated pdus. other embodiments and improvements are also presented herein.
