Abstract: a wrist for a surgical instrument is disclosed that includes a first linkage, a second linkage, and a pivot guide. the first linkage provides a linkage body, a first lobe extending from the linkage body and defining a first lobe aperture, a first axle extending from the first lobe, a second lobe extending from the linkage body and defining a second lobe aperture, and a second axle extending from the second lobe. the second linkage is rotatably coupled to the first linkage via the first and second axles. the pivot guide provides a guide body defining a central aperture, a first pin receivable in the first lobe aperture, and a second pin receivable in the second lobe aperture.
