a communication method, performed by an access point (ap), where the method includes: sending a first radio frame, wherein the first radio frame comprises proxy response information, the proxy response information indicates that the ap rejects a sensing measurement proxy request of an initiator or accepts the sensing measurement proxy request, and the sensing measurement proxy request indicates that the ap sets up a wireless local area network (wlan) sensing measurement as a proxy of the initiator.
