a method performed by an smce is provided. the method includes receiving, from at least one of a tx ue or an rx ue, semantic data corresponding to a semantic communications session between the tx ue and the rx ue. the smce is communicatively coupled to the tx ue and the rx ue. the method includes determining, based at least on the received data, a semantic distortion corresponding to the semantic communications session. the method includes synchronizing, with at least one of the tx ue or the rx ue, semantic data corresponding to the semantic communications session. a method performed by a ue is also provided.
