systems and processes for adaptable message transmission are provided. in some embodiments, a first electronic device receives, from a user, a speech input including a spoken message for transmission to another user. in some embodiments, the first electronic device obtains a textual representation of the spoken message, and in accordance with a determination that a first criterion is met, transmits the textual representation. in some embodiments, in accordance with a determination that the first criterion is not met and in accordance with a determination that a second criterion is met, the first electronic device transmits the textual representation after a delay condition is satisfied. in some embodiments, in accordance with a determination that the second criterion is not met, the first electronic device transmits the textual representation after a user confirmation is received.
