Abstract: a photoelectric conversion apparatus is provided. the apparatus includes: a semiconductor layer having a first main surface and a second main surface and including a first avalanche photodiode and a second avalanche photodiode adjacent to each other; and a trench extending from the first main surface toward the second main surface. at least a part of the trench is arranged between the first avalanche photodiode and the second avalanche photodiode, a first conductive portion and a second conductive portion are arranged in the trench, and in an orthogonal projection to the first main surface, the first conductive portion and the second conductive portion are arranged apart from each other in the trench.
