RECOVERING FROM MOBILITY FAILURE

Abstract: a ue includes a transceiver. the transceiver is configured to receive, from a bs of a first cell, a ltm configuration of one or more ltm candidate cells, and receive, from the bs of the first cell, a command to switch to a second cell. the ue also includes a processor operatively coupled to the transceiver. the processor is configured to initiate a cell switch to the second cell, and detect a failure of the cell switch to the second cell. the processor is also configured to, upon detection of the failure, select, from the one or more ltm candidate cells, a third cell, and perform a procedure. the procedure includes initiating an ltm cell switch to the third cell, and configuring state variables in a pdcp entity of a srb1 with values of the state variables in the pdcp entity from an earlier time.
