Abstract: provided in the present disclosure are a candidate cell configuration method and apparatus. the method includes: a central unit (cu) sending a request message to a first distribute unit (du), the request message being used for requesting information related to candidate cell configuration for a terminal, wherein the first du is a du where candidate cells are located; the cu receiving the information related to candidate cell configuration, which is sent by the first du; and the cu configuring a candidate cell for the terminal.
