Abstract: a memory device according to an embodiment includes a memory cell array for storing data, data lines for transmitting the data, path changing switches connected to the data lines, and a controller for receiving a first selection signal and a second selection signal that are rank selecting signals from a memory controller. the controller controls opening/closing of the path changing switches based on the first selection signal and the second selection signal.
