SYSTEM, METHOD, KIT AND FORMULATIONS FOR PRINTING ELASTIC THREE-DIMENSIONAL OBJECTS COMPRISING THERMOSET POLYURETHANE MATERIALS HAVING A HIGH RESISTANCE TO LOSS OF ELASTICITY
Abstract: systems, methods, kits of parts, and extrudable partially-reacted co-reactive compositions are disclosed for making thermoset polyurethane parts made via three-dimensional printing. the reactive components used to make the polyurethane thermoset include a first reactive component comprising at least one polyisocyanate prepolymer, a second reactive component comprising at least one polyol prepolymer, and a third reactive component comprising at least one polyol compound, wherein the at least one polyol compound has, per molecule, less than two urethane groups and (a) at least one ester group and at least three hydroxy groups per molecule or (b) at least one carbonate group and at least two hydroxy groups per molecule. this combination of reactive components improves resistance to loss of elasticity due to compression set and/or hydrolysis or exposure to chemicals, solvents or heat.
