Abstract: the present invention involves a method of targeted imaging of a bacterial infection in a subject. in one embodiment, the method includes administering pyochelin (pch) bound to a radiometal to the subject and imaging the infected area of the subject using a positron emission tomography-computed tomography (pet/ct) scan. in one embodiment, the pyochelin bound to a radiometal is selected from the group consisting of copper-64 bound pyochelin and gallium-68 bound pyochelin.
