Abstract: the invention relates to pharmaceutical matrix tablets for oral administration comprising a bradykinin b2 receptor antagonist having a chemical structure according to formula (1), or a salt or solvate thereof, wherein r is deuterium or hydrogen: formula (1) such as (s)-1v-(1-deutero-1-(3-chloro-5-fluoro-2-((2-methyl-4-(1-methyl-1//-1,2,4-triazol-5-yl)quinolin-8-yloxy)methyl)phenyl)ethyl)-2-(difluoromethoxy)acetamide. the matrix tablets reliably provide extended release of the bradykinin b2 receptor antagonist which makes them particularly suitable for prophylactic and/or chronic therapies. therapeutic uses of the matrix tablets are provided.
