Abstract: amide lipid conjugates of benzyl isothiocyanates are disclosed. the benzyl isothiocyanate is conjugated to a fatty acid, such as a c-cfatty acid. the disclosed amide lipid conjugates have a structure according to formula i, where one of rand ris alkoxy or hydroxy, and the other of rand ris —h; and ris c-caliphatic. sunscreen formulations include a compound according to formula i and one or more excipients. the sunscreen formulation may further include one or more additional sunscreen active agents.
