Positioning Sounding Reference Signal Transmission and Reception in Non-terrestrial Networks

Abstract: a method can include receiving, by a wireless device, one or more radio resource control (rrc) messages. the messages can include one or more non-terrestrial network (ntn) configuration parameters indicating a validity timer. the validity timer can indicate a maximum time duration for which the one or more ntn configuration parameters are valid. the messages can also include one or more positioning sounding reference signal (srs) configuration parameters indicating at least one positioning srs resource for srs positioning in an rrc inactive state of the wireless device. the method can also include starting the validity timer in response to the receiving the one or more ntn configuration parameters. the method can further include, based on the validity timer running in the rrc inactive state, transmitting, in the rrc inactive state, a positioning srs via the at least one positioning srs resource.
