Abstract: a secondary battery includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and an electrolytic solution. the positive electrode includes a positive electrode current collector, and a positive electrode active material layer supported by the positive electrode current collector. the positive electrode active material layer includes multiple holding particles each including anatase-type titanium oxide, and multiple positive electrode active material particles each including a sulfur-containing material. the holding particles form a porous structure by being directly joined to each other. the porous structure is directly coupled to the positive electrode current collector. the positive electrode active material particles are each held by any one of the holding particles. the holding particles have an average particle size of 100 nm or less.
