Abstract: a chip varistor includes an element body including a first and a second side surface, and a plurality of internal electrodes opposing each other in the element body. the plurality of internal electrodes include a first, a second, a third, a fourth, and a fifth internal electrode. the first internal electrode is exposed to the first side surface. the second internal electrode is exposed to the second side surface. the third internal electrode is separated from the first and the second internal electrode. the fourth internal electrode is disposed to form a plurality of varistors connected in series between the first and the third internal electrode. the fifth internal electrode is disposed to form a plurality of varistors connected in series between the second and the third internal electrode. among the plurality of internal electrodes, the internal electrodes opposing each other include ends opposing each other and having different widths.
