Abstract: disclosed is a head-mounted display system comprising a head-mounted display unit producing a computer-generated output for a user. the head-mounted display unit includes at least one sensor. the at least one sensor may be configured to measure a parameter associated with digital eye strain for the user. the at least one sensor may be configured to communicate a measured parameter to a processor, wherein the processor is configured to effect change on the computer-generated output based on the measured parameter.
