Abstract: the present invention provides a method for uniformly and efficiently manufacturing a composite of a hydrotalcite compound and an amino acid with the resulting composite having a high aspect ratio. the present disclosure is a method for manufacturing a composite of a hydrotalcite compound and an amino acid. the composite has an aspect ratio of 85 or higher. the manufacturing method includes a solution adjustment step and a heating step. the solution adjustment step is a step of preparing a slurry solution. the slurry solution is obtained by mixing an aqueous solution of the amino acid and a complex metal oxide. the complex metal oxide is obtained by firing a precursor hydrotalcite compound. the heating step is a step of heating the slurry solution. in the solution preparation step, the slurry concentration is less than 30 g/l. the slurry concentration is the concentration of the slurry solution.
