Abstract: there is provided a novel method capable of producing high-purity single-walled carbon nanotubes with high efficiency, without concern for a decrease in the strength of a reaction tube. a method for producing carbon nanotubes by floating catalyst chemical vapor deposition (fc-cvd), comprising the step of producing carbon nanotubes by heating a feed for carbon nanotubes in the presence of an iron-containing catalyst and an alkali metal compound.
