Abstract: a vehicle control device including an electric steering actuator generating a steering force for steering a rear wheel; a trapezoidal screw converting rotational motion generated during driving of the steering actuator into linear motion for steering the rear wheel; a target steering angle setter to set a target steering angle of the rear wheel based on steering by a driver; a steering angle detector to detect a current steering angle of the rear wheel; and an energization controller to control an energized state of the steering actuator. the energization controller executes control of alternately switching between an energized state supplying a current to the steering actuator and a cut-off state to cut off current to the steering actuator, when steering in a direction away from neutral and the target steering angle of the rear wheel is different from the current steering angle, and a value of a current gradually increases.
