FIRE-RESISTANT GLOBE VALVE

Abstract: a fire-resistant globe valve includes a valve body defining an inlet, an outlet, and a flow path. the globe valve includes a valve seat located along the flow path between the inlet and the outlet, a stem including a first end and a second end, and a plug coupled to the second end of the stem. the plug includes a plug body and a seat disc. the seat disc is coupled to the plug body. the seat disc is configured to sealingly engage the valve seat in a first closed position. the globe valve includes one or more springs positioned between and engaging the second end of the stem and the plug body. the one or more springs are configured to bias the plug body to sealingly engage the valve seat in a second closed position when the seat disc deforms from exposure to fire conditions.
