20250207488. Monitoring Friction (ProFrac Holdings II, LLC.)
Monitoring Friction of a Fracture Treatment Fluid
Abstract: in a general aspect, the friction of a fracture treatment fluid is monitored during a hydraulic fracture treatment. in some aspects, a system includes a conduit that communicates a facture treatment fluid from a pump system toward a well system during a hydraulic fracture treatment. the conduit includes interior and exterior surfaces. a first channel extends from a first interior port defined by the interior surface to a first exterior port defined by the exterior surface. a second channel extends from a second interior port defined by the interior surface to a second exterior port defined by the exterior surface. the system includes a differential pressure sensor that measures a pressure difference between the first and second exterior ports of the conduit during the hydraulic fracture treatment. the system includes a control unit that determines a friction of the fracture treatment fluid based on the pressure difference and the distance.
