Abstract: provided herein are coated articles and coated transparencies having a functional coating. the functional coating includes a first dielectric layer, a first metallic layer over the first dielectric layer, a first primer layer over the first metallic layer, a second dielectric layer over the first primer layer, the second dielectric layer includes: a first film over the first primer layer, a second film over the first film, a third film over the second film, a fourth film over the third film, and a fifth film over the fourth film, a second metallic layer over the fifth film of the second dielectric layer, a second primer layer over the second metallic layer, a third dielectric layer over the second primer layer, and a protective layer over the third dielectric layer. the functional coating provides a reference insulating glass unit solar heat gain coefficient of less than or equal to 0.38.
