PNEUMATIC COMPRESSION VEST DEVICE, METHOD, AND SYSTEM FOR TRANSTHORACIC MANIPULATION FOR OXYGENATION

Abstract: an exemplary method and pneumatic vest system (also referred to herein as a v/q vest) are disclosed for improving oxygenation that can reproduce the effects of proning treatment. the exemplary pneumatic vest can be used synergistically with proning, as a replacement therapy for proning treatment, and/or to monitor or assess whether patients would respond well to a proning treatment. the exemplary pneumatic vest can be integrated with sensors and intubation equipment. the compression vest system can integrate a mechanical ventilator with a pneumatic compression vest to improve oxygenation, provide potential alternative or bridge to proning patients, and/or reduce mechanical ventilatory morbidity.
