Abstract: an aerosol generating device extending along a device axis (y) and configured to operate with an aerosol generating cartridge. the aerosol generating cartridge may include a cartridge body comprising a dispensing opening and a valve mounted on the dispensing opening. the aerosol generating device may include a heating cavity and a heater. the heating cavity may be configured to receive at least a part of the cartridge and defining a transversal wall. the heater may be integrated in the transversal wall of the heating cavity. the heater may include a flat part and a protruding part protruding from the flat part to face the valve when the cartridge is received at least partially in the heating cavity, the protruding part forming a substantially constant gap (d) with the cartridge when the cartridge is received at least partially in the heating cavity.
