Abstract: a printing apparatus includes a roll body holding portion, a transport portion configured to transport roll paper from the roll body, a printing unit that performs recording on the roll paper, a support portion disposed to face the printing unit, a housing, and a first cover configured to be opened and closed and cover the roll body when the first cover is closed, the roll body holding portion and the first cover are disposed above the housing, a medium supply port for supplying the roll paper into the housing is installed on an upper surface of the housing, the first cover does not cover at least a portion of the medium supply port in a state in which the first cover is closed, and a second cover configured to cover a non-covered area not covered by the first cover in the medium supply port is included.
